News from Unlock Your Wellbeing July 2018

June has been SCORCHIO and July looks like more of the same!  Keeping COOL has been a priority

What have we have been busy with here at Unlock Your Wellbeing this month?
Lots! including delivering several Mental Health First Aid courses around the South East, including London, Essex, and Basingstoke. Many people being astonished at the content and value of this training course, whether the half day, 1 Day or 2 Day version.  Feedback from participants has been brilliant - we LOVE delivering this training and it shows!

Our latest Action for Happiness group in Reading was fully booked, with a waiting list, and a great group of people have started the 8 week course.  Looking forward to the next few weeks - discovering more about actions we can take in our lives to make not only ourselves happier, but to creating a happier WORLD!

Other highlights included completing a Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP) course with Compass Recovery College in Reading, working with Ethical Reading and Brighter Berkshire on a presentation event to RBS in Reading, being interviewed on BLAST Radio by Eddie Winship, the launch of a new Depression Xpression group in Wokingham, reunions with our Brazil expat group, birthday celebrations and a long weekend in Beautiful Bruges.

We are very excited to let you know about our newly reorganised "Lunch'n'Learns" and/or "Coffee'n'Chat"

These are short sessions - up to an hour - aimed at improving our emotional and mental wellbeing.   
Brilliant for work places, team days, speaker spot for many organisations, etc - you can mix and match to personalise them to suit your needs.

And so for July - what is in store??
We have several more Mental Health First Aid courses booked to deliver - our open course in Reading is now FULLY BOOKED - but we will be announcing new dates for September/October time.  Watch this space or follow us on Facebook  Twitter or LinkedIn  to hear about it first.

We will be continuing to deliver WRAP courses with Compass Recovery College as well as the new Opportunity Recovery College in Maidenhead. Ethical Reading's FREE event in July, alongside Brighter Berkshire - all about mental health matters - Reading, July 9th at 5pm. Want to understand more about mental health, mental illness and, importantly, mental health Recovery? This is your chance. We will be speaking there - you find out more about our work at this event. Discover some of the issues and the actions you can take both personally and in the workplace. Full details and how to book are here. (Tickets are going fast)

Depression Xpression Wokingham - will have its 2nd meeting on July 4th and every first Wednesday evening at 7pm at the Salvation Army building on Sturgess Road in Wokingham. After a very successful launch by Reading's Depression Xpression members, we hope this group will go from strength to strength.  Do you or someone you know have a diagnosis of depression - then be sure to come along and share your experiences with others who really understand.  Free - just turn up!

Wellbeing in Wokingham Action Group (WIWAG) - we are making lots of plans for World Mental Health Day, working with schools and keeping mental health and wellbeing on the agenda.  Want to join us to make a difference locally? Further Ahead
Emotional Wellbeing Event in Crowthorne - September 27th at 6.30pm at the Morgan Centre - where there will be speakers (including Unlock Your Wellbeing) and stalls to encourage people to look after their own wellbeing. This is being organised by New Wokingham Road & Heath Hill Road Surgeries’ Patient Participation Groups

Already we are thinking about World Mental Health Day - hold the date - October 10th - for an event in Wokingham which is going to be jointly organised by Involve and Wellbeing in Wokingham Action Group (WIWAG) at Cantley House Hotel, 10am - 2pm - more details to follow.

Lots going on - we hope to meet you, work with you or otherwise engage with you soon.  Contact us and we can work out great ways of working with you to improve mental and emotional wellbeing - this is our PASSION!
